Recently, we had the pleasure of meeting with business and community leaders to recognize the Disability Services Board (DSB). This advisory group was originally established in 1978 as the Prince William County Committee for People with Disabilities (PWC CFPD) and works to recommend ways in which the county can better respond to the needs of citizens with disabilities. As a mentally disabled client of the Prince William County Community Services Board (CSB), I have been a customer for more than five years. During this time, I have seen the CSB make great strides in reorganizing managed care under the leadership of former executive director Phillip E.
Dukes. Forums are also available to provide an opportunity for people with disabilities to hear directly from candidates and ask questions about the future of services and supports in Virginia. Unfortunately, no CSB client has been appointed as a member of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors. The Disability Services Board is an invaluable resource for connecting people with disabilities in Prince William County, Virginia. Through their efforts, they are helping to ensure that individuals with disabilities have access to the services and supports they need to live full and meaningful lives.
