The Centreville Immigration Forum is a great resource for immigrants living in western Fairfax County and Prince William County. Our membership is open to anyone who can benefit from our services, providing a platform for people to come together and share questions and information about their local community. At the Forum, we discuss the DREAM Act and its importance for Virginia's young immigrants. We urge all Virginia residents to contact their representatives in Congress to support this important bill.
We also talk about the challenges faced by day laborers in Centreville, Virginia, and how the Forum is working to provide greater security to the entire Centreville community. The Forum was organized by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington and VACOLAO. Melanie Fox and Tim Meadows compiled anecdotal data from the Forum and Wellspring United Church of Christ to present a collection of quotes and stories. House Bill 776 introduced by Arlington Delegate Alfonso López would benefit Virginia's young dreamy immigrants by providing them with state tuition like any other Virginia student. Prince William's ordinance followed angry public sessions, demonstrations, political changes and increased community divisions.
The Centreville Immigration Forum is committed to helping immigrants in Prince William County navigate these difficult times and build a better future for themselves.
